The Hotel Guanahani & Spa introduces Acclaimed New Managing Director

The Hotel Guanahani & Spa, the largest hotel on St Barths, welcomes highly accomplished hotelier Martein van Wagenberg as Managing Director of the newly appointed 5-star property.

With more than 26 years at the helm of leading luxury properties worldwide, Mr. van Wagenberg is a consummate professional. He previously spent nine years at Rosewood Resorts, managing Rosewood Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda, BVI and Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Los Cabos, BCS Mexico. Under Mr. van Wagenberg’s direction, Little Dix was named the No. 1 Caribbean Destination by Harper’s Hideaway Report in 2010 and Las Ventanas al Paraiso received the AAA Five– Diamond Award for twelve consecutive years. Mr. van Wagenberg oversaw multi million dollar enhancements, expansions and renovations at both resorts, increasing occupancy and guest satisfaction while carrying out the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts philosophy and vision.
The Hotel Guanahani & Spa looks forward to having Mr. van Wagenberg on board and continuing their record of distinction under his leadership. This year, the prestige suites on property will be completely renovated and refurbished by the expert team of David Schwartz architects and Luis Pons D-LAB.
As part of the reopening on November 1, the resort will launch a culinary event of collaboration between New York chef Alfred Portale of Gotham Bar and Grill and Guanahani’s Executive Chef Philippe Masseglia. Special packages have been created for this month-long event at Bartolomeo, Guanahani’s gourmet restaurant.
